18:30 - 19:30Himalayan Balsam is an invasive species that spreads quickly and crowds out other vegetation. It needs to be cleared before the seed pods have chance to 'pop' and spread.
Northcliffe Allotments and Friends of Northcliffe are looking to remove as much of the Balsam as possible from Northcliffe Woods and we're going to help on their Thursday evening session.
This is definitely a task where you'll see the difference you've made at the end. It could even be described as therapeutic.
The wood are strep and rough in places so footwear with grip will be useful. Bring gardening gloves if you have them, I can provide spares if needed on the day.
We're meeting Margot and the rest of the volunteers at the miniature railway on the edge of the woods.
How are you getting there?
