Budapest / Hackney Half Training Session #4
4th training session of 6 by Axel in East London
Bonjour! it's the french Axel!
It's time to prepare to Budapest Half Marathon and Hackney Half Marathon, and even if you're not racing one of these two all the sessions will be suitable for all race training and all ability!
Hills sessions:
Question? Budapest and Hackney are flat, isn't it? why would you train on hills?
Answer: I love hills! More seriously Hills session improve power and strength of your legs, then you'll feel like flying on the flat.
Question? How do I know that I've improve?
Answer: Session after session you'll feel more easy
Question? Go up and down a hill is a bit boring, isn't it?
Answer: Yeap it might be! But guess what we will make it more fun and it will be split in few sets!
Mile End trust me it doesn't look but it's hilly enough to do an hills sessions! We will also work on uphill and downhill technique, everyone one can run at his own pace and you'll be able to always cheers someone
For these session we will meet at the entrance of the track of Mile End!
Threshold sessions:
Questions? What means this word?
Answer: Threshold runs improve your lactate threshold.
Questions? Ok there is now two words that I don't understand!
Answer: The lactacte treshold is the moment when your body produce more lactic acid than it can remove them. Basically it's the moment when your legs start to feel like burning. At Thresold effort you should be able to talk for 4-5 words
Questions? Why is it useful?
Answer: It will improve your running economy (using less oxygen while running a bit faster)
These sessions will be held in the small part of Victoria Park (West part), and we will meet at the Pavillion Cafe!
This is the fourth session and we are keep going our work on threshold running in Victoria park
