09:30 - 17:30Bromley GoodGymer Tim used to be a regular at GoodGym Oxford in our first year. Having grown up in Oxford he was able to make some helpful suggestions both for tasks and run routes, and was a valued member of our GoodGym team.
This September is our 3rd attempt at a route Tim devised which goes around all 10 of the Oxford View Cones - places from which the view of Oxford’s historic centre are meant to be protected.

Our idea is to have runners and walkers attempt the route. People can join for a section between 2 of the view cones, come along for a few, or attempt the whole route, as they prefer.
We will start and end at The Perch in Binsey. Full route is approximately 39km or 24 miles. It’s not intended as a race, but a run, walk, jog, to meander around the route. That said, we are fully supportive if you want to race ahead to test your speed along a nearly-marathon distance.

- Boars Hill
- Hinksey Hill/A34 Interchange
- Port Meadow
- Elsfield
- Doris Field Memorial Park
- Headington Hill Allotments
- South Park
- Crescent Road
- Rose Hill

Approximate Distances between View Cones:
- Perch Pub to Raleigh Park 2.2miles
- Raleigh Park to Boars Hill 2.5miles
- Boars Hill to Hinksey Hill 1.15miles
- Hinksey Hill to Rose Hill 2.6miles
- Rose Hill to Crescent Road 2.7miles
- Crescent Road to South Park 2.15miles
- South Park to Doris Field Memorial Park 1.4miles (loop of park adds another 0.15)
- Doris Field Memorial Park to Elsfield 2.25miles
- Elsfield to Cutteslowe model railway (not a view cone, but a good meeting point) 4.4miles
- Cutteslowe Park to Port Meadow (Wolvercote Bathing space) 1.8miles
- Final stretch to The Perch 1.3miles (optional river swim if take Port Meadow side rather than Godstow Priory side)
