Make food available while burning off calories

Situated just a five-minute walk or run from our regular meeting place, 1000 Trades; Birmingham Central Foodbank have been a bit low on volunteers and could really do with our help. They need people to help weigh, move, sort, and date food ready to give out to people later in the week.
The regular Monday shift is 6.30-8.30pm but they are flexible if you can only do part of that time. So sign up and do what you can. If you can spare the full two hours, it has simply flown by every time we have done this task, you just never stand still! Even just a couple of us at a time can make a massive difference as they can have quite a lot of food to sort in a very short time. Whatever we can do on the night will give the daytime volunteers more time to focus on the people they are serving. Whatever we can’t do, they will catch up and we go at the end of the two hours no matter what.
The volunteer shift comprises of: weighing trays of donated food, sorting mixed donations into food groups, labelling use by dates and stocking shelves ready for the Foodbank service.
It is only a short walk from 1000 Trades, but if you are not sure of the location, leave a comment below.
