Date: Saturday 15th June Time: TBC (we’ll update once confirmed) Location: Lyttelton Playing Fields, Hampstead Garden Suburb
Join us for a very special event as we help kick-start a new community-led environmental project right here in North London. In collaboration with Earthwatch and local Friends groups, we’re supporting the launch of Britain’s Biggest Living Garden — a grassroots initiative looking at how simple gardening practices (like when and how we mow our lawns!) can boost soil health and support wildlife.
We’ll be helping Jane, Dominic Rose, and other local partners set up for the day and engage with the public as they explore the science behind bugs, biodiversity, and better gardening. There may be lawn experiments, bug hunts, chats about soil, and more — come ready to get stuck in or just be part of the movement!
🦋 Why get involved? This is the beginning of a much bigger idea — building greener, more biodiverse neighbourhoods from the ground up. Lyttelton Park is the pilot site, and your help could shape something that spreads right across the borough.
💬 No specialist knowledge needed — just a willingness to help out, chat with locals, or lend a hand setting up.
We’ll update with timings and exact tasks as soon as they’re confirmed.
Let’s get the garden growing! The launch event for Britain’s Biggest Living Garden will take place at Lyttelton Playing Fields, located in Hampstead Garden Suburb.
📍 Address: Lyttelton Playing Fields Kingsley Way Hampstead Garden Suburb London N2 0DQ
