Cleaning up Thirlmere Park
Helping to keep a small local park in tip-top shape
Please note that this group run has been cancelled.
Welcome to GoodGym Liverpool
We're a friendly and social group who combine exercise with helping out in the local community. We meet every Monday evening to get active and do a physical task to help the charities and community organisations and projects across the Liverpool City Region.
Most Group Runs will be lead one of our fabulous volunteer qualified Run Leaders, but watch out for ones listed as 'Social Runs' as this means no Run Leader is present but we still go out and run together keeping our 'no one left beind' GoodGym vibe in place!
The Task
We will be doing a litter pick / clean up of Thirlmere Park in Everton. It's a small local park that often gets overlooked by the bigger Everton Park, so it's a great chance to go and show some love to a space enjoyed by local families.
Bags and litter pickers etc will be provided, but you may prefer to bring your own gloves. The park is only lit by the surrounding street lights so it's helpful if you can bring a head/chest torch with you.
The Run
We'll be meeting at the Suitcases on Hope Street for a warm up and a run (with walk option) to the task. What 3 Words meet up link
This is one of the longer runs we do at 2.2 miles each way (3.5K), you are also welcome to cycle there, or if the distance isn't for you then feel free to meet us at the task location, or would like a walk option just let us know in the comments.
With the evenings still darker we advise you to dig out those hi viz clothes and head/chest torches if you have one! Run Safe.

New to GoodGym?
This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.
New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.
Sign up by 7:00pm on Monday 21st February so we can let John know who to expect.
Walkable
You will be able to join a group walking to the task if you'd prefer not to run.
Ideal for beginners

There's space to change and leave bags and toilets. We're not planning to do anything purposefully dangerous, but GoodGym takes no responsibility for your safety during group runs, you participate at your own risk. Participants accept full responsibility for items stored at the Hope Street Hotel, and the Hope Street Hotel and GoodGym will not be held liable for any losses or damages.
Come to the hotel entrance. Ask reception where to meet us if you can't see anyone in a red t-shirt.

Sorry folks, with storm Franklin creating weather warnings for high wind the task owner has cancelled the task and we feel it's a good idea to cancel the run too.
We're still planning to go ahead with the Community Mission on Thursday though as forecasts are back to normal for then, so do come and join us for some tree planing at Aintree Hospital.
See you soon xx
