Making F-R-I-E-N-D-S in Haggerston Park
19 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.

On Monday, 19 Tower Hamlets Goodgymers met on a warm evening at the Town Hall Hotel for this week’s task to Haggerston.
After a quick stretch, we made the 1.5km run to Haggerston Community Garden and Orchard Project – a space set up for locals to grow fruit and veg which is nestled within Haggerston Park, Hackney City Farm and Haggerston BMX Track.
We were split into a few groups who set about tidying up the area by cutting back the buddleia and removing brambles and nettles from the surrounding fruit trees. We even uncovered a couple of compost bins which looked like they hadn’t seen daylight for a while! Luckily most people already had cuts and bruises from last week’s task, so any minor injuries sustained this week went unnoticed.
Despite a few requests, Tom decided against taking us to Haggerston Park for a coffee in Central Perk with Gunther and instead we headed through Broadway Market to London Fields. After some faster running whilst trying to avoid the hipsters’ picnics we made the 1.5km run back to Patriot Sq for the warm down. PS This is the link for Hermione’s Devil Mud Run on 17th September. Lovely run last night. Thanks Tom and everyone. My nettle stings are being roundly admired in the office today :)
