18 GG Camden warriors helped Community by Design at the Calthorpe Project, ran 3km and worked our glutes!

We didn't have any newbies this week but gave ourselves a round of applause for being committed Goodgymers anyway. Also we were reminded about the importance of missions, coach runs and that it's easy to get a DBS check to do those good things.

This weeks news: Races coming up are Regents Park 10km (3rd Sept), New Forest Races - four distances (10th Sept) and Oxford Half marathon (8 October). Gonna be fun!

This week we were helping Community by Design at the Calthorpe Project. We ran one mile there and met the wonderful Rokiah who told us more about the project and how we could help. We split into four groups mixing things up throughout.

Drill time - Chris was pleased!

A team of six cut squares of acrylic sheet and drilled holes to make supports for our polystyrene hydroponic trays. Imogen really showed her power and technique here... This group then moved onto to hoeing the garden of weeds, Liz loved it and Lina loved it even more that I knew what "Hoe Down" by Hannah Montana was. Obvs.

We also marked out plastic planting trays, drilled holes and wove garden wire across them to make supports for the plastic modules that had been cut to fit by the volunteers outside. These trays and modules will also be for hydroponics.

The modules were then filled with clay pebbles and coir and planted with lettuce and basil seeds. Shirin was very happy about seeing this task from start to finish!

Well done all - we'll be back soon!

After soooooo sooooo much GOOD we didn't have time for the two fitness sessions planned or a relay BUT we did have time for some glute based conditioning (had a couple direwolf visitors though - GOT reference if you didn't get that).

As always thanks to everyone who came, followed me around Camden and did some good for our community.

Next week we are moving wood for Skip Garden, sign up.

PB out.
