The Friends Of ParkLand Walk
The Parkland Walk is the longest Linear Nature Reserve in London at 4km in length. The Park follows the former railway line connecting Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace which opened in 1873. Its fame is now global as it often features on 'must do' lists for visitors from oversees. Make the Parkland Walk a better place for everyone.

A special group run for the August Bank Holiday, combining multiple excellent communities and projects!

This run has been inspired the great work by Trash Free Trails:

And our friends at Camino Ultra London, and their August Community 5 Challenge:

Area Activator Simon will be started a run along the beautiful Parkland Walk trail path from The Woodman Pub, opposite Highgate underground station.

Our plan is to enjoy a gentle run for 5km down the path and through the woods, while litter picking on the way.

We will have heavy duty gloves, dustbin bags and a few litter pickers on hand, and available for you to borrow. However, please feel free to bring your own!

We aim to arrive at The Museum of Homelessness (near Manor House tube station) by 7.15pm, for those who are not running with us.

We did a great job litter picking near the south of the park earlier this month- so this time, we will aim to cover the duck pond and wildlife habitats, and along the side of Seven Sisters road.

Unfortunately, due to the Bank Holidays, we do not have a bag drop location available this week. Back to Arsenal Community Hub next week though.

Goodgym Islington August Social!

After our litter picking session, we are planning on walking over towards Finsbury Park station to enjoy some refreshments and delicious pizza at Someday Tavern.

Options are available to run between 5km and 7km in total

Remember that we run to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you can't run for more than 15mins without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us or see if there's a starter session coming up in your area.
