Thanks to careful manoeuvring to weed among rose bushes and thorny shrubs β not the easiest task when in summer kit with bare arms and legs β the borders in Alexandra Recreation Ground are looking spruce and tidy. Three GoodGymers helped the Friends group with clearing brambles, bindweed and other weeds, and with deadheading too, so that the shrubs can grow taller and flower longer over the late summer. This was a first session for Katie and Angela β welcome to GoodGym Bromley!
As a little interlude, we hopped over to admire the new activity course marked out in the childrenβs play area (Katie can testify this is fun for adults too) and, as a bonus while I was cycling home, I spotted a heron wading majestically in the shallows of the River Ravensbourne.
