Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Bournemouth runner
Our much anticipated visit to our favourite Care Home finally came around and it didn't disappoint!! And what a great way to start our group runs in 2020 too!
And to add to all that magic we also welcomed Charlotte to her first GoodGym experience. Give her a big cheer and show her some love! Hope you had a great time and see you next week!
After two weeks off it was great to see so many lovely faces. Some of us did manage a couple good deeds last weekend but we had lots more of the gang back this evening.
John was back having found his GoodGym t-shirt in his Christmas decorations box....Abi was back after spending a month in India finding herself! We're glad you two are back!!
We headed for a bit of a scenic route to the the Care Home...a bit of an undulating course....with some stairs thrown in....down the Russel Coates hill...then up the BIC one.....and everybody managed it without stopping too! They're going to have to start making bigger hills in Bournemouth!!
Then along the overcliff, with the powerful waves as our soundtrack, then down the Harvester steps....and then up the never ending stairs on the other side of the chine.....and then then drizzle started, but it was lovely!
We arrived at the Care Home overheating slightly and had to stand outside to cool down, so as not to make a scene!
The gang split up amongst the residents and made up 3 teams. Team names were Quizzical, The Heavy Otters and Rochdale.
With 30 questions ahead we got stuck in. There were a couple questionable Truth or False questions and a few raised eyebrows....especially when we found out the name for a pregnant goldfish.....a Twit....so mean!
With all the points added up and sheets handed back in it was time to announce the winners........drum roll...... Team Rochdale came up winner with 27 out of 30 possible points...and the other two teams drew level on 24 points! So a very close scoring game again, like last time!!
Brilliant how some residents shouted out the answers then realised they had to keep it to their team, lots of lovely chatter amongst the gang and residents and so nice to be able to give back and spend time with this generation.
The run back had to be quick and less scenic as we got carried away a little...but we did manage to squeeze in another hill for good measure!
Well done everyone! Great to have you all back! I missed you!
See you next week!
