The woodland and large pond of the CS Lewis Nature Reserve used to belong to CS Lewis, and it is said that he enjoyed wandering here while writing his Narnia series. Apparently Lewis planted some of the trees there, and used to swim in the pond. Despite being surrounded by houses and very close to the busy Oxford ring road we love how tranquil the reserve feels.
The area is now managed by the Berkshire Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust who have asked for help to create barriers now the birds have left, there may be some bramble clearance to be done too.
Please bring your own gardening gloves. Tools will be provided. It is often muddy, slippery, and the paths are steep within the reserve. Please wear appropriate footwear.
Meeting point is at the entrance to the nature reserve. Address is Lewis Close, OX3 8JD
How are you getting there?

Sorry, but unfortunately this task can’t go ahead this weekend as there isn’t yet enough dead wood around to build the natural barriers. We have rescheduled it to the last Sunday in November instead, and Ellie will be your GoodGym coordinator that day.
You can find the new task listing [here](https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/c-s-lewis-nature-reserve-2ae9cc54-d3d5-41bf-b897-d0928e7286be?legacy=true).
