The wonderful seaside city of Brighton has many an attraction on a hot summers evening. Cold beer on the beach followed by a dip in the sparkling, inviting sea. No wonder only eight of us turned up for our group run last night! For those that did make it thank you for choosing us!
As numbers for the previous few weeks had been quite high, I’d planned in advance that four of us would be tasked with finally finishing painting the railings outside One Church as the rest of us went off to clean at the community kitchen. So our small group was split into two even smaller groups but still plenty of good was done.
David and Tabatha, both sporting their well earned brand new black T-shirts to mark their 50 good deeds, kept to the theme of black as they, along with Paul and Helena, opted to paint the last of the railings black.
Meanwhile Abi, Roy, Oz and myself headed to the community kitchen where we managed to tick off all the jobs on the list, including much window cleaning with some magic micro fibre cloths.
Our timing was spot on as the two groups arrived at the Saint Nicolas rest garden at pretty much the same time for a killer core fitness session. We did lots of exercises for the abs and glutes, all very useful for keeping us strong and stable as we run.
We have a brand-new task for next week as we will be heading to a new part of town to help out at one of the biggest state schools in the city. Until then enjoy the rest of the sun!
We’re a non-profit organisation helping people learn to cook, eat a healthy diet, grow their own food and waste less food. We aim to connect and inspire individuals, community groups and organisations. We believe food is more than just fuel, it brings people together and changes lives.
