Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
wowsa! 8 awesome Goodgymmers ran 3km and wheelbarrowed even more to help out at Walpole Park!
First things first it was my last ever goodgym run, so sad! I would like to say thankyou to everyone for making my last run so blooming lovely, we had the classic Alex Schatz and now regular Steph as well as an amazing 5 newbies! A big welcome to you all!
So tonight's task was an interesting one, we had a map and so mulch treasure to find! Ok it was mulch...it was a quick jog around the corner and we entered the secret treasure finding lair aka the back of the rickyard building! In there we found wheelbarrows (luckily one for each person) and some super spades!
Then it was off to hunt the mulch, and with a mixture of my poor map reading and Stephs amazing observation we found the mulch! Woo! Then we wheelbarrows our way to the other side of the beautiful park to lay our treasure to get the real prize...which is an awesome park for the whole community to enjoy!
Mulching is such an important job as it keeps the soil and the plants and trees healthy.
We made quick work of the patch and before we knew it, it was back to the rickyard for a fitness session! And Tabata was on the agenda! Such a great way to work at a higher intensity and improve the health of your cardiovascular system for more running! Yay! So 20s on 10s rest x 8 and we did a massive 3 rounds! All you need is an interval timer and you're good to go....we did jump squat vs butlers, jump lunge/back lunge vs split squat vs jumping jack then to finish, high knees vs plank! Loads of legs!
Then a little cool down jog back and we were done with a few stretches, very important after all the running/mulching/fitness! It was so great to see you all and have an amazing goodgym future! From next week the awesome Sarah will be taking over xx
