Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a sunny spring evening seven of GoodGym Redbridge’s finest runners headed to complete a huge task with Forest Recycling Project and ran a whopping 12km in the process.
With 500 flyers delivered last week, the ante had been upped and it was down to the group to post 1,000 leaflets through the doors of local residents. If there is one thing we like, then it's a challenge.
By way of some background, over the past year GG Redbridge has been a regular visitor to the Forest Recycling Project. During this time we have mixed hundreds of cans of paint and made them ready to be put on the walls of community centres, local projects and even residents houses.
With plenty of paint waiting to be sold the next step in the project was to spread the word and get more people buying it – and hopefully finding a task for ourselves too!
Armed with hundreds of flyers the group split into teams of two. With streets allocated and determination in their eyes GG Redbridge set off to flyer as fast as they could.
45 minutes later as it began to get dark the team returned to FRP with just a hundred or so flyers left – but importantly all the houses on the listed covered and a job well done. All it left was an easy run back to base.
A huge welcome to Matt and Natalie who, after a couple of runs with the group, have become fully signed up members - t-shirts are in the post. And a big shout out to the legend that is Peter who came for the task even after sustaining injuries (again) playing rugby.
It’s Bank Holiday Monday next week and what better way to end the day that with a task and run. You can find out what we are up to by follow this link
Run by Marian this group helps take unloved patches of land in Wanstead and Snaresbrook and turn them into beautiful patches of flowers and plants.
