Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
18 adventure seeking GoodGymers braved the sub zero temperatures to run 4.5 or 6k to Dalston Roof top park and carry a metric tonne of wood down 7 flights of stairs to fill a skip.
Brushing off the winter blues Team Hackney were in fine form! Great to have Louise join the group for the first time on her maiden Goodgym run and awesome to see some friendly returning faces rejoin the fold!
Keeping warm was the main priority of the evening and no better way after a 5 minute pulse raiser than getting stuck in with some Box Bunny hops! With some added bounce locked into our legs we Walking lunged our way to leg strength success before heading off as a big group through the back streets to Bootstrap and the Dalston Rooptop Park.
Meeting Rob we climbed the 7 flights of to to Rooftop heaven and got stuck in running all the various mainly wooden things down to the skip below so that the Rooftop Park will be ready when it reopens in the Spring!
With Clare, Tom and Peter sorting out what needed to go next and providing much needed smell, water and nail alerts the huge pull of wood was taken down in no time!! Some tricky manoeuvring of the large sheets of wood and we were done! Lovely to get a light refreshment to give us a little energy boost for the way back!
The race back to base was Split into the Speedy and Sexy crews, the Speedy crew dominated a 3.5k speedy run back to base in record time! While the Sexy kept perfect form on our 2k loop home! Big shoutout to April for carrying her new Aloe plant back on the run!
A quick stretch out, and a reminder about next weeks ** Monthly Social** to a local Vietnamese restaurant! Be great to have you all along for the run and refreshments!!
On Sunday there is a special Starter session at Mabley Green!! Why not come along and bring a friend to show them how great Goodgym is!! Sign up here.
