Report written by Kim
Only the bravest of the brave weren't put off by the torrential rain all afternoon and were rewarded by a beautiful evening at Springbank Community Garden.
We had lots of missions going on at the weekend (5 in total) and a big well done to Stephen who completed the Rock 'n' Roll half marathon in Dublin at the weekend - give him a cheer next time you see him.
It was a last minute change of task when it was decided that it wouldn't be safe to clear the railway embankment (after the winds earlier in the week and the rain) instead we went 100m further down the road to the community garden.
Anne-Marie had lined up quite a variety of tasks for us, these included:
With 5 minutes to go, a new (huge) task was started, to clear a very invasive plant/bush from a corner of the garden, everyone got stuck in and we managed to remove around half of the plant - excellent work everyone! The fitness session had to be postponed as it was clear everyone would rather tackle removing the plant rather than squats...
Everything cleared up and tools nearly prised out of people's hands, it was time for group photo and run back to Glassmill.
The downhill run back which involves a big uphill before the big downhill provided some impromptu hill sprints for some.
Remember if you haven't signed up to the BIG HALF and you'd like to then there are still £10 places available, just drop Adele an email.
