11 excellent runners run 4km to scrub carpets and clean windows at the Deborah Ubee Trust!

Well it was my first week back after a lovely long holiday and while it's quite depressing coming back to this cold and miserable weather, it is lovely to come back to GoodGym! And it is great to see some new faces! Maybe I should go away more often.....

We welcomed the lovely Lucia & Penny to their first group run, as well as Danielle who went along to the Peckham run recently and this was her second run. Also Rachel, Clare and Pritesh who have come along to the runs whilst I've not been here, so it was lovely to meet you all! And WELCOME to the family!

Fave band!

Well there's no way to get to know someone than by finding out their favourite band from when they were a kid right? Mine was Blue (Lee was such a babe). Hanson, Boyzone, Steps and The Spice Girls also made the cut. Christian tried to play the "cool" card with Mumford & Sons but we weren't having any of it, so he rightly reverted back to Westlife... good choice Christian. After everyone had revealed their guilty pleasure, we went and did a warm up and set off on our way!

The Deborah Ubee Trust is a centre for emotional health and well-being and they have a lovely practice just around the corner from Greenwich station. We went there a few weeks back to clean some of the glass doors and this time they needed their carpets cleaned. Armed with gloves, wipes, cleaning spray and giant blue tissue, everyone got to work! There were two rooms that needed doing as well as the main central area.

A few people took to each room and began to scrub away and channelled their inner Cinderella. After 10-15 minutes, most of the carpet stains were gone (as far as we could tell!) and the everyone moved on to cleaning the windows and glass doors. A further 10 minutes or so and everything was sparkling!

To the tunnel!

After we'd finished the task, we made our way to the foot tunnel and over to Island Gardens for the fitness session. Metaburn was on the cards but I was kind and let everyone choose the exercises for a change. Unfortunately, the grass was slightly damp so everyone came home with a big brown patch on their backs (soz guys) but you all did great and smashed it! The exercises chosen were bicycle crunches, squat jumps, lunges, plank and sprints! And all this time I felt bad about giving you guys squat jumps but clearly you just love 'em don't cha!

After 5 rounds and multiple doggie-doo scares, it was time to go back for a cooldown and Greenwich Goodies which were some yummy Snowballs. Still can't believe Alex took 2, greedy or what.

Thanks so much for all your hard work guys! It was lovely to meet some new faces and hopefully see you all next week!
