On the penultimate group run of the year we had 14 wonderful runners full of Christmas cheer, ready to help decorate and spruce up St. Mary’s Church ready for the upcoming festivities

Three lovely new runners weren’t about to wait for New Years resolutions before they got stuck in, huge warm welcome to Kathryn, Sara and Sasha who joined us for their first GoodGym run last night!

Name in lights

We were also joined by regular superstar runner Jenni who came straight from her first (unofficial) good deed of the day where she’d just had over 12 inches of hair cut from her lovely flowing locks ready to donate to Little Princess Trust! What a lovely thing to do and she’s seriously rocking the short hair!

So onto the run and we started with a Mexican wave style warm up and a chat about favourite Christmas songs. A whole range of choices and some not so keen on the music at this time of year, we’ll it can get a bit much!

We had a lovely short run tonight (which given the drizzly weather we were all quite happy with) so it didn’t take long before we were in the warmth of St. Mary’s where Vicar Steve and Angela we ready with lots of jobs for us to do in order to get the church ready for the Christmas influx!

"We’ll helPEW" - Alex’s pun contribution

We had little helpers all across the church, some high up in the upper pews dusting and hoovering, some sorting all the kneeling pads, some shifting boxes from upstairs to downstairs and perhaps the most important job of the night, some putting up and decorating the Christmas tree.

"We’re keeping it kneel!" - Shan from the kneeling party

It really didn’t take us long before everything was finished and the church is now in tip top shape for the festive season! Steve was so delighted to have our help and noted how many hours we’d saved them, he also warmly invited us all to the carol service on Sunday. Here are the details for that if you’re around and are ready to feel super Christmassy!

With time on our hands we headed to the shelter of a nearby car park (makes a great gym don’t you know) to play some squat tag, what’s the time mr wolf high knees and capped off the evening with some squat jumps to Roxanne (it’s a good’un).

Next week is the last one of the year followed by our Christmas party, hope to see you all then!
