Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
16 runners spread the love all around Peckham Rye this week flyering for Link Age UK and then getting slightly muddy and out of breath in the grass.
We met, as ever, in the warmth of Old Spike and welcomed back familiar and new faces! Thanks to Time Out, Tube Ads and other halves, we welcomed Maddie, Lois, Steve, Ed, Faunsia David and Caz for their first run with us. Click and cheer!
Beth gave an intro about Coach Runs and Missions so sign up here if you're DBS checked for a Southwark mission this weekend! Otherwise, bring your docs if you'd like to get involved.
So, introductions done, we had a quick warm up playing Bulldog in a small space - easier to catch people. Big up to Dee whose commitment to the cause had him do an army roll whilst trying to catch people. Then we got going on a jog to the Rye.
Maps out, leaflets shared and watches set...
We got underway to spread the word about more ways you can help your community and the older generation. All three groups gave out all of the leaflets they had and proceeded to get a nice pootle about Peckham before heading back to the Rye for a workout to end the session.
No one got lost!
The first part of the workout was a sprint session - jog - sprint - jog - sprint - recover. And we go again. Repeat thrice.
Then the slightly messier part - lunge jumps, mountain climbers, crab kicks, high skips, bear crawls and planks. Luckily, none required sitting on the floor in the mud so it was mainly hands which suffered. A superb effort with a full body workout to make sure we're in tiptop shape for all of the running we undertake.
