7 people ran 5k to help feed the homeless at Birmingham Mission Care centre
After having numerous back to back Tuesday evenings of nice warm weather, the sequence was finally broken tonight like an Andy Murray serve! Well Wimbledon is on, so we were bound to get rain at some point! It’s good they have the roof nowadays though so they don’t have to roll Sir Cliff out! Anyway, back to what we did tonight (I do love Wimbledon though!) We were slightly lower on numbers tonight, probably due to the wet stuff, but it was great to see Annie and David again, doing a bit of GG tourism.
tin tin
We set on our way, running the 2k to the Care centre, on arrival the group transported various bags of ‘stuff’ from the ground floor to upstairs. Once done half the group served the food, while the other half sorted a load of tinned food out! After spending around 30 minutes doing the task we were back out in the rain, ready for the hill session!
Rob tonked everyone before David headed the way
I hope Rob and David appreciate the mini heading! Yes, the hills were alive! The group stayed close together, so we did six in total. Rob led at the front, before David took on the pace for a bit, but as usual all the group worked hard! Kate, Karin and Annie worked hard all the way to the top keeping that good form of heads up and running on those toes. Garry was easing back slightly as he had a lot of running around to do tomorrow (so he told us anyway!!). Once done it was a steady run back to base and that was game, set and match until next week!
Next week we will be out doing good again, it would be great if you could join us sign up here.
