13 people ran 5.5k to Birmingham Mission Care Centre to sort clothing and tinned food for the homeless
Tonight we welcomed George to the GG Brum fold and as he has the same name as my nephew we can be rest assured at least I won’t forget his name! It was great to welcome him and to see Kate back after a recent injury. We were off to Birmingham Mission and as Maureen had asked for some men’s trainers I had a pair of running shoes for her, which Garry and Kate kindly carried a shoe each as I couldn’t fit them in my bag!
Once at the Centre we were split into two groups, one group sorted all the tinned food out the other group sorted clothing. It was nice to see my trainers were put to use straight away as somebody at the centre had requested a pair of size 10 trainers, so we had done some good before we even started! Once all our duties had been done we were warmly thanked as always by the staff and clients at the centre and we were back on our way!
A new hill!
This is our usual 'hill workout task', but with our original hill having the road dug up and the steps in front of the town hall now taken over by the German Market we had to find another venue. Therefore, we went for a hill alongside the mail box. The group did 6 tough lung busting minutes of hill work. Everyone working so hard, it was fantastic to see! Aaron and David blasted their way to the top. Laura put in some great work showing a fantastic technique. Garry put in a great shift as did everyone as I have already said, so consider you all mentioned! Once done we had a group picture and off we went on our way back to our base.
Next week we will be out doing good again, it would be great if you could join us sign up here.
