15 came, 13 tasked and 2 missioned all in the name of Goodgym Southwark, on this fine and fabulous evening, seeing out June. POW POW!

Loads of familiar faces steamed through the doors of old spike tonight and to my absolute delight Matt & Lianne were back, fresh from their wonderful wedding, sporting their honeymoon smiles and brand new sparkly bands of gold. Hip hip hurrah!!!

So with love in the air, how could we not dare to make some time for running, do-gooding and funning!

With a cool breeze that met us on our way out and thankfully a shower of rain that kept its distance, this quality gang of glorious Goodgymers head out for the eve and nothing could be beat, moving our feet for a brilliant task & Salvation Army treat! NEAT!!

So with this excellent Southwark squad (minus Beth and Helena who ran off for their mission) the team dashed off the 2 mile jaunt in no time at all. This route of course included the first of our 2 big hills for the evening and with gusto and grace and a bloody good pace, we stormed up the incline like we had motor packs on our backs!!

TIME OUTTTTTT - Here's what happened on the mission!!!!

Wednesday's in Southwark usually mean Group Run Day but tonight, as well as the group of Red Shirt heroes heading for Camberwell Sally Army, two mission-ready runners wound their way through Peckham to weedle out the potatoes amongst the tat. One: a stalwart of GG Southwark and Good-deeder extroadinaire. The other: as it was so delicately put "popping her mission cherry." The destination: a much loved but rather out of control back garden. This week's heavy rain had brought about something of a growth spurt in the opportunistic weeds in the potato bed. We quickly got to work pulling reams of bind weed and brambles

So back to business.... In 25mins we had made our way there, mostly thanks to Ed, My (Helena substitute) Pigeon for the night, leading up front so I could chatter and welcome our lovely 4 newbies, who by the way, could not have brought better vibes and heaps of infectious enthusiasm!

So welcoming us as we arrived at our camberwell base camp, was delightful Denise, who informed us of 3 main tasking areas for the next 30mins ahead - the Car park clear up of leaves and litter, the de-composting of the make shift plant troff tyres in the back and the pruning and general tidy up of the front garden!! Standard behaviour from this team of legends, as they wasted no time and got stuck into full swing with haste.

With all the smiles, chats and banter we've come to know from this joyful and jubilant group, they dashed off those challenges with all the determination of the South and finishing every single one doncha know!! Pow Pow!

After a well wishing and happy goodbye, we wished our host farewell and off into the eve we again did scoot! And.... You guessed it Another hill!!!! This time this badass bunch ran tempos on the inclines and even though 3X down and out of puff, we certainly weren't out of will power as we sprinted and hot-footed our way all the way home! BOOM!

But that wasn't the end!! oh helllll no!! Planks, sit ups and scissor kicks galore, finished the night with a bang! score!

What a team, they're a dream, giving back for the pack and love of the south oh yeh that's what we're about!!

See you next time!!!

DO GOOD. FEEL GOOD. INSPIRE*
