Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Today we ran between 4 and 5 km delivering leaflets near Wandle Park for ”Live and unplugged!” - a music event at Wandle Park on Saturday the 9th of July
We split into 3 teams and worked our way along the nearby roads taking care to avoid yapping dogs and the “No Junk Mail” signs. After we’d finished posting the leaflets we headed over to Wandle Park itself and started our fitness session at the bandstand. Tonight the plan was for a little speed work and some upperbody and core strengthening. I measured the path round the park earlier in the day and it was 0.5 miles - a perfect distance for a little competitive running for the group. The times were impressive ranging from 3mins 25secs to 4mins 4secs. After a quick breather we did some press-ups, triceps dips and wall squats. Lunges were mentioned again this week but sadly we ran out of time for them much to the relief of some. Still there’s always next week….
Next week we will be heading over to Park Hill Recreation Ground to help in the walled garden. We will be meeting Josi from Friends of Park Hill and she mentioned juice and biscuits to keep us fuelled!
The GoodGym Parkrun tour will also be heading to Lloyd Park in Croydon on Saturday the 24th of September. It’s posted up under Races so sign up and come along in your red t-shirts and meet other GoodGymers from different boroughs
