Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Alex Eggs
This afternoon we were treated to a rather extraordinary optical phenomenon as the sands of the Sahara were swept into the upper atmosphere, scattering shorter wavelength light & leaving a reddy-yellowey glow throughout London and the South of England. Whilst the science was sound, as we limbered up for tonight's task, we discussed other possible explanations including the End of Days and alien invasions, leading to the conclusion that Will Smith should be invited to the next group run. ANYWAY, not to be distracted from the real objective of the evening, we headed off on the short run to Hollybush where we were greeted by our friendly task owners & set to work on digging, weeding & sweeping leaves across Rocky Park. With head torches and lanterns to hand, both the digging and sweeping groups bossed their respective areas, creating massive leaf & shrub piles to be composted over the winter months. As we posed for our customary group photo, Margaret said that our half hour would have otherwise meant days of cleaning for the estate owners, so once again a very valuable task well done! After a short warm-up we set off to the new location of our GGTH time trials in Well Street Common. There were some excellent times recorded for the 800m and 1-mile distances. Now it's your turn to beat your PB next month! As well as the great running, congrats to Domitille for completing her 50th good deed! Look forward to seeing you next week! Thanks & happy running!
