Any evening spent with GoodGym Members is always a fantastic one and tonight was no exception!

Firstly, a huge welcome to Rob who joined us for his first task this evening. We hope you enjoyed yourself Rob and we hope you'll be back for more GoodGym fun soon!

7 Runners made their way to the Wishing Well for an evening of weeding, sweeping, and general tidying up, as well as a good recce of the area where our vegetable plot is going to be. It was great to be in the company of some enthusiastic gardeners, which quite frankly is a godsend given that many of us are not too green fingered and have no clue what to do with a vegetable plot!! All that said, we believe it will be a brilliant collaboration between us and the Wishing Well and will have so many benefits, mostly of course, to the local community.

We talked about raised beds, rotavators and radishes (ok, I confess, we didn't talk about radishes, but it rhymed!!) and what our starting point needs to be for getting the allotment off the ground. I think we are all looking forward to getting stuck in and looking forward to the end results.

Now, you might think that the pun is something to do with the beautiful scents of the flowers in the garden; but no. It was actually the scent of the local indian cooking spices for the whole time we were working - making us all feel ravenous as we worked, given that most of us hadn't eaten!!

Once we had done our veg plot recce, we set to work to get the garden area a bit tidier. We pulled out weeds, we brushed, we pruned and we swept. The effect of 7 people each giving an hour and a half is just incredible. We achieved so much in such a short space of time and made the area look much tidier. And as always, we had a lovely time chatting and enjoying each others company - and maybe we enjoyed the odd chocolate cookie too!! ;-)

Thanks everyone for another great GoodGym night. Really enjoyed being with you as always!!

Lots of love, Nicola xxx
