Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Ten Brent Trotters met up at the Queensbury ready to do some good in the local community and enjoy the balmy (muggy..!) August evening. We welcomed newcomers Alex and Hamid, with Claire stepping in for Ellie for the night and doing the housekeeping before Nisha lead us towards Kensal Green to our task for the night, sprucing up the surroundings of the Scout Hut - Part II.
Nisha unlocked the treasure trove of tools from the shed, and the gang got to work on those wily weeds that had cheekily worked their way up through the paving slabs, wrenching, raking and cutting down all weeds, dead grass and overgrown thorny branches that dared to cross their path –
talk about “cut-bush city limits!” We were gonna (Tina) TURNer that place around...
Thorns aren’t all bad as it turns out – they provide nice bite-sized summer fruit, which we had a berry nice time eating!
With the patch tidied up considerably, we felt satisfied that the Scouts won’t recognise the place when they come back from their summer break! Team work makes a dream work, in 30 minutes flat!
We still had some time for a few...
*timed sprints on the lawn *and a bit of core work *with planks in pairs *leg rebounds *and scissor and kicking legs to get those core muscles engaged.
We headed back to the Queensbury for a cool down stretch, and said goodbye for another week… See you guys when I'm back from holidays ! Xxx
