Report written by Dom Tooze (he/him)
On a sunny Saturday, 6 GoodGym runners ran 22km from Hampton Court to Battersea Park.
Lucky enough to have such lovely weather, and with various runs to prepare for (including a first marathon, a couple of half marathons, and some other bits), we met up on scenic Hampton Court Bridge before setting off.
We ran off, running through lovely scenery in Richmond Park, Wimbledon Common and Putney Heath, and finally the Thames Path and Battersea Park. Well done to Matthew whose train ran late but managed to catch us up easily by Kingston (where we also bumped into Samia on her way back from this cracking looking community mission!). Half the group went a wee bit faster and had time for a bit of stretch before we met them at the end.
The run went well, arriving at the finish point more or less on time. Here, mostly feeling pretty exhausted, we popped over to the Magic Garden for a recovery beverage and some food. Shout out to Remy who (having also run from Chiswick to our start point), ran an extra 2km at the end to bring her day up to an amazing 20 miles!
Well done everyone who came along!
