Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tonight we ran over 6km to Thornton Heath to tidy and water the tubs and planters
We headed off to Thornton Heath tonight with gloves, rubbish bags and empty plastic bottles to clear the rubbish and butts out of the planters and tubs near Thornton Heath train station and the Clocktower at the end of the High Street. We were met by Linda who took us to the well hidden taps so we could get on with clearing and watering. It was a lovely flat route for a change - Croydon is so hilly - so we made good time on the run back and had plenty of time for the group’s favourite exercises to strengthen their legs and improve their balance - squats, lunges, one-legged balances and running man balances.
We had two new members Joanna and Claire so welcome to them and hope to see you again. After we’d cooled down we all headed off to the new BoxPark which has just opened near East Croydon station. Around 36 food and drink outlets - there’s talk that it may become a regular feature (weekly?!)
Next week we will be heading visit and hopefully pick the mushrooms we planted and also to harvest the saffron - a double task! Don’t forget to sign up here
