Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Tonight we ran around 5km to do a variety of jobs at Sherwood Pre-school
Tonight Dom arranged a task at a Sherwood Pre-School, which provides childcare services for children aged 2-4, and breakfast and afterschool clubs for children from the primary school next door. At this charity run setting, staff work hard to meet the needs of each child, encouraging individuality within a safe and stimulating environment.
At the preschool, a number of small jobs to be done; we fixed up some privacy screens, hung a canopy, moved furniture, displayed the alphabet and painted a surface with blackboard paint. We did like the list of rules the children who attended the breakfast and afternoon clubs attended had put together.
Our fitness session concentrated on hill sprints to increase strength and speed. I think a few of the drivers heading towards the flyover were a little surprised to see lightening fast flashes of red GoodGym t-shirts sprinting up the hill. We all admired Jamie’s excellent arm drive – so much so that I forgot the blow my whistle and they just kept on running!
We had one new runner today - Anastasia - it was lovely to meet you and hope to see you again very soon.
Next week we are hoping to help with the pancake charity race – food and running – great combination. As it’s the last run of February maybe a quick trip into Boxpark or nearby would be appropriate!
Don’t forget the Lloyd Park Parkrun event on Saturday the 25th of February when Ivo, the founder of GoodGym, will be coming down to Croydon to try out our local Parkrun. You can sign up here whether you fancy running, volunteering or supporting – don’t forget to wear your red shirts and red laces if you have them.
