Report written by Paul Bown
20 Goodgymers ran 4km to help the Rose Bowl Community Centre with removals and gardening!
Thanks for coming along guys, it was wet on the ground but not in the air - actually quite warm out.
In the news this week:
After warming up we split into two teams, one led by James who did a lap of the Emirates before heading towards the Rose Bowl and the other by me which directly there.
Upon our arrival we were given two tasks:
Team one got started by carrying up the smaller but often awkward items of weights, gym bags, chairs and poles - these were piled near the garden exit for bin recollection. Once the way was clear the team carried huge goal posts out, working together to navigate the ramps and pathways - nice!
Teamwork = biscuits
Meanwhile the garden team cut back bushes/trees, brushed away moss from the pavements and sweet/raked the garden, pathways and football pitch. Armed with an array of tools and bikes bags the team did a great job.
As the first biscuit round commenced we were finishing up our jobs mmmmm. Saying our goodbyes to Rose Bowl we ran back to the Emirates for our time trial followed by jammy dodgers and a stretch.
Sign up for next week here when we'll be helping Sunnyside Community Gardens.
