Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Pritesh Mistry
11 fantastic GoodGym-ers came out to get fit as we were deprived the opportunity to do some good!
Summer seemed to have left us this evening but that didn't stop 10 wonderful folk from joining me as I covered in Islington for the first time. Joining the first timer list was Elia who came for his first ever GoodGym run and Sarah who came for a bit of 'touristing' for her first visit to Islington. Welcome to you both!
With the last minute call that the task we had planned was not going to go ahead we decided to mix things up with some fun circuit sessions and resurrected the Emirates time trial as well as finishing off with a plank-off. These Islington folk like a good work out!
Rock, paper, scissors
We kicked off with some dynamic stretches and then headed on to some circuits. Pairing everyone off we started with a game of 'rock, paper, scissors' and the winner ran about 50m and back whilst the loser did an exercise - over a number of games we covered burpees, mountain climbers, planks and more!
Time trial
With that, Alix led us over to the Emirates Stadium and with Aidan helping me with timing the remaining group set off for the 740m slog round the stadium. We had some great times and Elia smashed it taking the fastest time of 2m40 on his first ever go!
Here's the run down on the times:
After a short rest Steve then led us on a 20 minute route back to Highbury before we finished off with a plank-off which Steve duly 'won' stopping after just over 3 minutes when everyone else had bowed out.
Thanks for a great time and getting stuck in to the fitness even though we had no task.

p.s. Sorry - I brought biscuits but forgot to dole them out at the end!
