Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
We started the evening with a Christmassy cone game. Find the chocolate coin and you can eat it. 17 GoodGymmers and only 8 coins meant some were left disappointed. Tough cookies! Christmas isn't for everyone and the sooner you accept that the better your life will be.
Outfit of the evening went to Craig who was donning not only a santa hat, but also a beard. Well done, Craig.
So, two tasks as always....
Aidan, Steve, Craig and Bella went to St. Luke's. Here is Aidan's account:
4 Goodgymers headed to St Luke's this week. We have been helping there every week and the place is looking great.
Some of the planters needed to finish being filled with the large logs, great for testing our biceps and triceps. Steve and Isabella even did a bit of weight training!
Layer of logs in place we started with the soil, a good half layer in each. With one wheelbarrow we had lots of trips back and forth to make. (Check out Steve's Runkeeper to see, he left it running!)
Having filled a couple of the planters we were ready to get back. Still plenty of work for us to do there in the new year.
Steve led the way back with a pre-Christmas pint waiting at the end, post-stretch of course!
Aidan
Simon and Caroline led groups up to Caxton house where we decorated the bamboo lanterns we built last week. Decorating involved getting sheets of tissue paper, smothering them in glue and wrapping them around the bamboo frames, leaving a hole for lights to be inserted. Rose is going to put them up in the giant tree and will send us a photo of them in all their glory. Keep your eyes on Twitter.
Back at home we munched on clementines supplied by Danny Abs and some chocolate fingers.
The big debate of the evening was supplied by Steve: Should you bother with Christmas cards. There was lots of talk of all that paper being bad for the environment and card companies ripping people off and e-cards. The majority voted against so if you are a true GoodGym Islingtoner then you won't send any this year.
We're off for a couple of weeks now and back on 2nd January
To those who found the chocolate coins: have a lovely Christmas; to those who didn't: bye!
