20 Goodgymers ran 5km and helped shift and empty 120 bags of compost for Compton Square Gardens
Thanks for coming everyone, and welcome to newbies - Daniel and Sophie lovely to have you along.
In the news this week:
After we warmed up we headed the 1 mile to Compton Square Gardens, up too the hill to Highbury Fields and across the the Union Chapel. The volunteers in the gardens help the council look after the space, our job was to lift and shift 120 bags of compost to be emptied across the garden.
Top smells!
Splitting into the following teams we got everyone moving and the compost flowing:
We had little flags with numbers marking the amount of bags needed in one spot, which was very useful! After emptying 100 bags in the big garden, we sent over 20 bags to the smaller garden - nice!
Once we'd collected all the bags in I pretty much fed everyone biscuits (because of the the poo)... After saying good bye to Julia and her volunteers were headed to Higbury Fields for our 1km time trial - everyone smashed it - well done!!
Good luck to James, Frances and Clare who are taking on races in Porto this weekend!
Sign up next week here, task tbc.
