Please only sign up to this task if you have already completed, or are attending the induction session (here: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/induction-session-ahead-of-supporting-friends-of-raynes-park-station-with-jobs-at-the-station-ccdf0c6d-e37c-4f5d-97e9-3def6b3cb096) with SWR and Friends of Raynes Park Station at Raynes Park Station. If you have not completed this but are interested in getting involved with future sessions please get in touch with Jade or Caroline.

We will be meeting with Liz (who will be wearing a pink hi-vis SWR jacket) outside Starbucks (very near to the tunnel and Raynes Park station entrance for platforms 1 and 2) at 7.25pm and then head up to platform 3 to sign the SWR visitor register.

Trained Goodgymers will then be briefed and can start on the moving of compost from outside the entrance, up the stairs to platforms 3 and 4. Those attending the induction training will be briefed separately and can join the session once this is complete (from 8pm).

Please bring gardening gloves or similar if you have them to help with lifting although there will be gloves available if required. Otherwise equipment will be provided including buckets, carrying baskets and a trolley (at top of stairs) to help move the bags (or loose compost if unable to lift 40L sacks) and wheel it down the platform to the planters. Note that the Friends of Raynes Park volunteers will be on hand to help with carrying and shovelling compost, whilst the Goodgym team can focus on the heavy lifting/moving up the stairs.

If it rains, we will still go ahead as we cannot leave compost outside the station on the pavement.

Points to note - There are very strict rules in place about alcohol and drug consumption. If consumption has taken place within the last 12 hours, volunteers are not permitted onto the railway premises. - Suitable clothing is required e.g. enclosed shoes (no sandals), trousers (no shorts), long sleeves preferred and obviously no high heels, swimwear, dangling jewellery, skate boards, scooters etc. - Do bring glasses if you wear them, long and short distance in case you have to enter a code to open a door or to see a train coming down the track from a distance. We also ask volunteers to wear their hearing aids.
