Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
On a beautiful sunny evening 32 GoodGymers ran 5km to help a City Farm and the Tenants Association
In the news this week, we talked about Run Hackney after party drinks on Sunday and the fact LUCIA GOBBI has got her wings - hitting 100 Good Deeds from visiting her coach weekly and coming along to Camden GoodGym since November 2014.
Gobbi got WINGS
After an active warm up we split into two groups, with 15 people heading to Kentish Town City Farm led by Polly and Frances. The second group waited a few minutes and did a running drill involving a square, running pairs, high fives and sprinting - nice one guys! Once everyone was huffing and puffing, we headed off to help the Kentish Town Tenants Association with some painting.
Farm Report Written by Frances:
Following the excellent trip a couple of weeks ago, Polly and I took a group back to Kentish Town City Farm, where we were greeted by Mel and Simone and some loud moo-ing from the resident cow. After the joy of meeting the baby goats last time around, this time we were promised the chance to meet a two-day-old baby lamb – but only once we’d put some hard graft in first!
Hard Graft!
We were quickly put to work clearing an area of grass which was covered in old bits of wood and brick. The idea was to clear the grass area so that it can eventually be made into a garden, so we took down some wheelbarrows and piled them up with the debris. Once we’d filled a few wheel barrows, we did some speedy bagging up of the wood, before having a chance to pose for a quick photo with our old friends the goats.
As we were leaving, we were invited to come and see the farm's newest addition, the promised lamb. Much coo-ing ensued, before we met with up the painters to run back.
Painting Report Written by PB:
After dipping and weaving through the streets of Camden, we met Vaughan and Mary close to the farm where we'd be painting fences. They recently had a new fence structure installed which has inspired them to give a new coat to their existing fences.

Many of the local residents are elderly so they are unable to help with this, making our work even more GOOD. We got going and ended up painting two fence areas - front and back - great work everyone!
We regularly have two tasks on a Wednesday but this is the first time they have been so close; I could run in between which was fantastic. Thanks to the Taskforce for leading on things.
With both tasks completed we collected together, splitting into a speedy and steady group for our return run.
Next week, we are heading back to do some more painting for the Kentish Town Tenants Association and we have a NEW TASK doing gardening at Cecil Sharp House. Sign up here.
Don't forget GoodGym monthly drinks next Thursday in Angel.
Happy Running,
PB
