The Small Quarter Community Garden
We grow food to donate to local food banks, we look to bring the community together as a shared space, to make a space for nature, to give a voice to the vulnerable, to keep fit and maintain physical, spiritual, mental and emotional health.

The Small Quarter Community Garden grows fruit and vegetables to be distributed to those less fortunate or able to afford healthy food through food banks.

For this session we will be helping move some woodchip/mulch to the garden site to help improve the path/access. It needs to be moved from a pile on Mitcham Common, on a wheeled trolley to the entrance to The Small Quarter Garden - barrowed off the trolley and distributed on paths within the garden. Note that the trolley is stored at the Canons House but will not go through the entrance gate to the garden so prepare to get your steps in as the mulch needs to be moved around 200 meters from the pile to the garden over an accessible railway bridge.

Bring: Gardening gloves if you have them and a drink/snack might be handy although the coffee shop nearby has plenty on offer.

Meeting point: 11am at the shed outside the Pawalek Coffee Shop (located next to Canon's House). Note that the garden is located at: The Small Quarter, Croydon Road, Mitcham CR4 4JA.
