Who this task will support
Merton Friends of the Earth
As a Friends of the Earth local group, we strive to protect the natural world and the wellbeing of everyone in it. We collaborate with other groups in the London Borough of Merton and beyond for a clean, green neighbourhood, and we also support Friends of the Earth’s national and international campaigns. From organising tree planting events to lobbying our local councillors and MPs, we campaign and develop projects on a range of issues to help tackle the climate and ecological crisis

We will be supporting Merton Friends of the Earth and helping with the ongoing campaign to double tree cover in Merton, by planting 350 tree saplings in Morden Park. Tools and training will be provided but if you have gardening gloves these would be handy to bring along. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. A drink and snack might also be a good idea.

The event will be running earlier in the day as well but the team have requested extra help from Goodgym volunteers for this later session. Please sign up at the link below so they can keep everyone updated with further info: https://actionnetwork.org/events/merton-foe-tree-planting-event-8-march-2025-1130-130pm-session/
