A freezing cold Suffolk evening didn't deter a lucky 13 Ipswich Goodgymers from meeting up to #dogoodgetfit tonight.

Setting off from Suffolk University many of us were sporting one of the swanky brand new Hi-viz vests donated to Goodgym Ipswich by Ipswich Building Society.

A short run of around a mile took us to Brickmakers Wood - one of our regular task providers. Tonight Rob met us and asked us to help with several jobs - breaking up old broken, pallets, stacking newer ones and sawing lots & lots of logs.

As usual everyone got stuck into the jobs enthusiastically, with some of the boys desperate to get their hands on the saws.

Quite quickly the pallets were dismantled and the pieces of wood stacked to have nails removed as the log sawing continued. Rob then found some brooms and sweeping and gathering of leaves all around the storage area began while the sawing was becoming competitive!

It never ceases to amaze me how much we get done in such a short time on theses tasks, and tonight we were asking what else we could do as we still had some time.

When we reached 30 minute mark the log sawing came to a halt and there may some who'll be feeling DOMS in their arms and shoulders tomorrow! But the serious side to this is that the charity sell bags of the logs for firewood and it raises valuable funds to be reinvested in the Brickermakers woodland project.

A short return run back to the waterfront and we finished the evening off with a core strength building and balance circuit session. Single leg running (wo)man, step ups, squats, and press ups were all part of the challenge.

So that was our last Group Run before Christmas but we're meeting up next Monday for a Christmas social at 7.00pm in Issac's.

The next group run is on Wednesday 3rd January - on a Wednesday for 1 week only as Monday is New Years Day.
