Yesterday's session was a rollercoaster of a ride! We had the soaring highs of Annabel's 50th good deed (give her a massive cheer!), the drama of an afternoon of thunder and lightening and the mystery of the missing keys at Doddington roof garden. Not only that but we were delighted to welcome Robbie and Dylan to their very first group run, before heading off for a nailbiting monthly pub quiz which saw a showdown between two GG teams just a point apart! Phew, who needs a lie down?

Under thundery skies we did our warm up and discussed whether we were optimists, pessimists or realists. Maybe it was the GG effect but there were no pessimists amongst us, and just a few realists keeping us grounded. Heart rate up and muscles firing, we set off for Doddington roof garden, a former disused multistory car park which has been transformed into a beautiful space for local people to use.

After a quick tour round the garden avoiding (mostly) the many, many slugs, we got stuck into our two jobs for the night - weeding and de-nettling. The weeders had a big job ahead of them but were not phased, while the de-nettlers, tired of waiting for the shears, decided to wade in and risk the stingers. Not all were to emerge unscathed, but what was left was a clear area and a pile of nettles ready to be cooked - but no shears ever emerged.

Still, with a fitness session still to be done, we headed downstairs for circuits. Dividing up into teams we knocked out tricep dips, step up, sprints and planks before finishing off with a mini core workout. Great job everybody.

Well done to the winning GG team - our next pub social will be on Monday 30th, hope to see you there. Next week we're off to a local youth centre. Until then, happy GoodGyming, all!
