SESSION ORGANISER
Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Brahma Pochee
A three week GoodGym hiatus concluded last night. We knocked out our first session of the year, one of those lesser spotted beasts - the fitness session, say it in hushed tones for it might visit you in your dreams. We all loved welcoming some new personalities to the mix, Catriona, Georgina and Jack, a massive welcome. You passed the impromptu physical with flying colours, next week's session will be back to the usual format.
This week's Random Weekly Question was a lazy yet appropriate delve into our New Years Resolutions, hypothetical or otherwise: read more books, drink more water, drink less booze, engage more in the community, find a new job, become more of a minimalist and this week's winner (because I'm massively biased) - find a new job to enable more GoodGymming - YES.
We rolled into the Olympic Park and completed a three phase workout. Commencing with some priming jumps and running activation work. This high output and low volume work is a great workout, but also fun, who doesn't like to jump about? Not me. Second course was 15 second bridge sprints, to develop running mechanics and increase force production. Also, nothing makes you feel more alive than a sprints, that's just a fact. We then walked the long way to get riverside - thought I got away with that - and pushed into some speed-endurance work, 45 second out-and-back runs to bring about a cardio benefit to the session. Completing a mixed workout with something for everyone.
Next week we're at UpGarden painting a pergola, more hands on brushes the better - sign up here
Till then,
