This weekend was the first GoodGym Big race of the year and what an opener. Over 40 GoodGymers from different boroughs descended on Dorset for the wonderful Larmer Tree Races run by the great White Star Racing. It was a weekend running festival containing a 10 mile, half Marathon (that was a mile more than a half), 20 mile and Full Marathon race. The courses which were set over the surrounding countryside going through all different terrains was everything you want from a trail run, including big hills, fields and some mud thrown in for good measure.

The races were super and so were our runners, from first timers like race medalist Bristol’s Emma Rigby and Half Marathon runner Bournemouth’s Annabella to our speed demons George Bright and Helena Eames who both came third place in the half and 20 mile respectively. We even got a shout out from the race organiser, Andy Palmer, who said we'd clearly came en masse and were the biggest cheerers, cracking stuff. After we all had finished, a lot of team London, Bristol and Sheffield travelled back to our hostel where we were staying for the weekend where some folks checked out the local farm and made friends with some baby goats. We were also treated to a first rate curry and crumble from Chef Supreme Kevin Nugent with assistance from a bang tidy team of Sophie Hedges, Tom Hunter and Rosie Ashworth.

Overall it was a cracking weekend and was lovely to see folks from all different boroughs, with lots more races in the pipeline coming up for the year ahead, 2017 is shaping up very nicely.

Please see below for a list of the remaining Big Six.

Cracking stuff hopefully see you at the next one,

Nice one, Tom
