We are efficient leaflet droppers and even more efficient good deed-ers but anyone who’s joined us at a leaflet drop in the Byker area will agree it can be something of a challenge to not get lost!
Only Tom was running tonight (high praise for taking one for the team!) with Dan and Louise nursing tired legs from an epic day out at the Great North 10k yesterday and me convincing Michael to take the plan B option. We were helping our friends at Ouseburn Trust to share the news that the brilliant Ouseburn festival is just a few weeks away.
There were around 200 leaflets to distribute tonight and we’d been left to our own devices in terms of where the leaflets could be posted as long as they were in the Byker area! Luckily we’d just been to Byker for another task recently so we knew where to find the best letter boxes. Given our form for getting separated and occasionally lost we stayed together and worked our way around what can sometimes feel like a maze but the job was done in no time. Only once was I distracted by a dog which is a personal best.
There’s another chance to leaflet this week as Dan is leading a community mission this Wednesday for FoodCycle in Westgate. We are also finishing off this job for Ouseburn Trust next Monday, with Louise taking a group run to Heaton. Hope you can join us!
