Report written by Lydia Turnbull
8 runners and 9km tonight
Some odd weather greeted us this evening, it's suddenly got artic - so good timing to have a longer running session planned!
The gang met at our new home, Flirt Cafe and we heard all about some of the runners successes at the very hilly Jurassic Coast race at the weekend - amazing work you guys!
Our challenge this week was to promote some subsidised exercise classes. Active Dorset are a fab local organisation who charitably source funds to put on free or low cost activities to ensure everyone has the opportunity to get active and feel the health benefits.
We had a circular 9k route on our hands, running over to Boscombe to deliver this great stack of leaflets.
It felt fab running through the town with our red t-shirts on show. We soon got stopped and asked for details of how to join in - brilliant.
From town we zoomed over to parts of Boscombe known for deprivation and higher levels of health inequality. This was the target area so we split into boys v girls teams and got on with the flyering.
We took the chance to check in on another piece of work we'd done at a church garden - was looking good!!
Once all leaflets were delivered we needed to get warm so dashed back to base at a really great pace.
Super work team - thank you!
Next week please stay for a drink after - we need to mark the occasion of Daryl reaching FIFTY good deeds!!!!!
