8 runners ran 6.3km to hand out chocolate eggs to those in need

The bank holiday Monday didn't deter 8 great runners from getting out and doing good in Tower Hamlets yesterday! With the promise of a chocolate filled evening, lots of fun and doing good I can certainly see why.

We had at least 200 eggs!

We all met up, packed our bags full of Easter chocolates, signed in and headed to the Museum Gardens for a warm up session. After some high knees, butt kicks, star toe touches and lunges we set of in search of some people who were sleeping rough.

Eagle eye Joel spotted a couple of people in need by Bethnal Green tube station, so quickly rushed over to hand out the first egg of the evening!

We then headed down to Mile End Road, but finding people sleeping rough was harder than we thought. Obviously very good news! However in Alitab Park there were a lot of people with no bed for the night, so we gave out some more goodies and Alex suggested we head to Brick Lane.

With the smell of curry in the air we approached Shoreditch and Louise spotted someone sleeping under some boxes, so not wanting to disturb them she left some mini eggs for them to wake up to.

Shortly afterwards we spotted some kids hanging out in the park and Tracey offered them some chocolate only to be told no! Kids these days, ay! Oh and Tracey is running the London marathon on Sunday, so be sure to keep an eye out and give her an extra big Goodgym cheer when you see her!

Finally we headed back to the park for some circuits of tricep dips, planks and sprints. Well done to Ed and Alex for some super speedy sprints! Then the park ranger appeared as he was closing up for the night, so we had to take a slow recovery jog back to the hotel before some warm down stretches and de brief.

We will be returning to see Margaret in the community gardens next week, so make sure you Sign Up Here!
