Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
7 runners ran 4km to move furniture and tidy up Abbeydale Picture House!
The weather was cool and dry and the morale was high once we got on the mean streets of Sheffield
What we doing, then?
Once we had warmed up by running 2KM to the task we were faced with a very shabby looking historical picture house. A charity called CADS are moving in and asked us to help make a start moving out old furniture and generally tidying the area up. Despite the scale of the task, our hard core elite from Sheffield Goodgym got stuck straight in. We adopted safe lifting styles and soon we were making inroads. In total we were lifting and shifting for around 45 minutes.
It always amazes me at the scale of the work our Goodgymers can complete. The idea was to make a start on the removals, but we moved the lot!!! Well done all and a massive thanks to the guys at CADS for the refreshments. Always a nice touch.
Working on the pecs and guns
As always we finished with an intense fitness session. In recent weeks we have worked on cardio and leg strength. This week we decided to go upstairs to work on our chest, biceps, triceps and the glory muscles - the abs. A mixture of bodyweight exercises had the team working hard whilst the trainer played a few tunes on a piano.
Awesome effort.
Once we were suitably physically enhanced we headed back to beautiful downtown Bramall Lane to stretch off and bid our farewells.
Amazing job everyone! Thanks so much for coming. You really made a huge difference! Next week we are heading over to Heeley City Farm. It will be a great task - keep an eye on the website for more details as they come in. Sign up here
