9 GoodGymers hit the tarmac, took on a 3.5k run and absolutely smashed the task at the Living Under One Sun Allotments

Welcome back Gus

As the group gathered we were happy to see Gus making his way toward us. Welcome back Gus, great to have you back on board. After some chitter chatter we headed outside for our briefing and warm up. That done we set off in search of this weeks light down at L.U.O.S.

We had seen the light

Our run down to the task was a pretty good one as it’s down hill for the most part. We got the usual looks of wonderment as we ran through Tottenham Hale bus and train station. With this not far behind us we had arrived at the task to a lovely smiling Leyla the task owner. We had seen the light.

these guys took on the task like a walk (or run) in the park

As we entered the L.U.O.S area of the allotments we were greeted to by a table full of refreshments – an assortment of melon (grown on site) and lots of liquids. We decided to get stuck into the task before tucking into our treat so Leyla began telling us what we’d be doing. The task would involve shifting a big pile of wood panels which were going to be used to build a new L.U.O.S classroom in the allotments. Two teams wasted no time in banding together to get the job done. It was pretty tricky and definitely hard work as the panels had some weight to them but these guys took on the task like a walk in the park.

I don’t think I’ve seen a group attack the sprint like that before

Before long I was calling out “15 minutes left” and the team really pushed hard to get the last few panels shifted. They did so in 5 minutes so we headed over to where the treats were and tucked into some fresh goodness courtesy of Leyla and L.U.O.S. Treats had, we dished out some high fives, said our goodbyes to Leyla then hit the road again. En route back to base we stopped off for a quick fitness session before a sprint finish along the home straight. Shouts out to everyone here. I don’t think I’ve seen a group attack the sprint like that before. You guys were not playing.

Until next week folks. Do good – keep fit and look out for the light.
