It was a wet and blustery evening on Monday but that did not stop the crowd of enthusiastic and committed goodgymmers rocking up at Rocky Park (see what I did there?) for the evening's task with Margaret.

The aim of the game this evening was to shift a pile of woodchip that had been delivered to the nature reserve just round the corner from Rocky Park, to the garden itself to cover the pathway behind some plant beds.

The group duly split in two, with John, Sree and Aine opting for sporadic hiit style workouts in the shape of speed-shoveling the woodchip into the wheelbarrows as they turned up, and Chris, Joel, Martin, Rohan and Becky shuttling them to and from the garden. For some (naming no names, Chris and Joel) the shuttling quickly turned into speedy shuttle runs.... Quite a feat with full wheelbarrows.

A productive eve, with the promise of more woodchip ping action to come!

With thanks to Joel for this eve's report title!

Hollybush Estate
Hollybush's ‘Rocky’ Gardens and ‘Strawberry Fields’ orchard are now an established nature reserve with 79 growing spaces

The Hollybush and Teesdale Estate Urban Growers project began in April 2009 in Rocky Park – a disused children’s play area. Now enjoyed by the whole community, the area includes seats and communal herb beds for all to use.
