What a glorious evening in Bexley. Yep, it was a warm one but no one was complaining. Arms and legs out (probably not a good idea as you find out later) we headed out on a short run down into Danson Park and into the Old English Gardens. We were greeted by Tom and Nicky who we hadn't seen since last summer. Boy, it was nice to be back helping out in this beautiful space.

Todays task was to finish off the work along the wall. Clear out the remaining weeds, clip back dead branches, remove rubbish and then apply mulch to the area. It was a fairly big task this evening but was no problem for the awesome Bexley Goodgym. As always awesome team work took over. Spreading out along the wall we started off with the clipping, then the clearing, finishing off with the mulch spreading. As we really wanted to get this finished and due to the extreme heat we spent extra time getting the job done. Yep we sacrificed our fitness session, or did we. Let me tell you, shoveling mulch into the wheel barrows, squatting down picking up weeds, carrying them over to the compost area and then clipping back the bushes is probably harder than the fitness sessions i set each week :-) Ten past eight was soon upon us and victory was ours. Job Completed!!! The task was finished off with a refreshing squash drink and a slow very chatty run back to base camp Crooklog.
*This weeks competition:- This Wednesday make sure you post up your biggest gnat bites. (no prizes)
Tonight we saw our biggest turnout for a Bank Holiday Monday since records began (haha). It was also another celebration as we also welcomed Cheryl to the black tee shirt team. Yay!! Well done. Thats three black tee shirts in Bexley over the last three weeks. It would of been nice to celebrate with some cakes. Oh, wait a minute, we did............:'-) For the record they were delicious.
Well thats it for this week. Thanks so much for all the hard work you guys put in. It was also good to see Sarah and Johnny who now join us most Bank Holidays now. I hope you enjoyed the evening. Until next week Bexley............
