Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Samantha
After arriving at the storage unit and proclaiming our favourite festive food (roast potatoes getting a lot of kudos), we headed to the basement with the lovely Andrea to see what she had in store(age) for us.
And it turned out she had LOADS of bags full of donated clothes for the Rough Sleeper Project. These all needed taking out of the bags and sorted into male and female items and then into type of clothing - coats, jumpers, trousers, tops etc. Even faced with a whole unit full of bags to get through, we weren't put off and were quickly making piles of organised chaos in the corridors and empty units.
At one point, there were piles everywhere but we soon had everything sorted and into separate bags depending on its category. These all then had to be put back into the original unit (jenga-style) where they had came from so, on the outside, it looked the same as when we arrived - but we all know it's what's on the inside that counts...
Donโt let your rejected items end up abandoned on streets or in landfills, where they can sit disintegrating and damaging our environment. Reach out to Get Rid Of and Donate, arrange a free collection for your unwanted goods and help us be there for everyone who needs us.
